PPKM Java-Bali Evaluation: 29 Regencies / Cities Still High Risk Of COVID-19
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartato explained the results of the provisional evaluation of implementing restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in the provinces of Java and Bali.
Based on the results of monitoring the progress of COVID-19 cases in 73 districts / cities that have implemented PPKM since January 11, there are still 29 districts / cities that are in the high risk zone for COVID-19 transmission.
"The results of the monitoring show that in several regions, 29 city regencies are still at high risk, then 41 medium-risk city districts, and 3 low-risk city districts," said Airlangga in the Presidential Secretariat Youtube broadcast, Thursday, January 21.
Of the seven provinces implementing PPKM, only two provinces experienced a decrease in cases, namely Banten and Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java and Bali are still high.
Based on the parameter of the increase in weekly cases, there are 52 districts / cities that have experienced an increase and 21 districts / cities have experienced a decrease.
In the active case parameter, there are 46 regencies / cities that are still experiencing an increase, 24 regencies / municipalities are decreasing, and 3 regencies / cities remain.
With regard to the parameter of the death rate for COVID-19 cases, 44 regencies / cities are still experiencing an increase and 29 regencies / cities experiencing a decrease.
Meanwhile, in terms of the cure rate parameter, 33 districts / cities experienced a decline, 34 districts / cities increased, and 6 districts / cities remained.
Based on the results of the evaluation, President Joko Widodo, in a limited meeting, ordered 73 regions in the provinces of Java and Bali to extend the implementation of PPKM for two weeks, starting from January 26 to February 8.
"Earlier, the president asked that the restriction on community activities be continued from February 26 to February 8," he said.
Airlangga said the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian would issue an instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs to all regional heads who had implemented PPKM to follow the extension directions.
"It is expected that each governor can evaluate based on the parameters of the cure rate which is below the national level, the mortality rate is above the national level, the positivity rate is above the national level, and the bed occupancy rate is above the national level. These are the parameters that are required to be evaluated and then to continue to be implemented. "explained Airlangga.
