26 Semi-Permanent Houses And 35 Burnt Lapak In Muara Baru, Police Conduct Investigation
JAKARTA - The police are investigating the cause of the fire that hit 26 semi-permanent houses and 35 stalls of used goods near the Muara Baru Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TPS), Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Saturday at 11.00 WIB.
The fire broke out in two Neighborhoods (RT), namely RT 16 and RT 022/RW 017, Penjaringan Village. In addition to 26 semi-permanent houses and 35 stalls, the fire also scorched nine permanent houses.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit Reskrim) of the Penjaringan Metro Police, North Jakarta, Kompol Harry Gasgary said, there were no casualties in this incident. However, the cause of the fire in the Muara Baru Temporary TPS area is still being investigated.
"In this incident, we can confirm that there were no casualties and the cause is still under investigation," he said.
Head of the Operational Section (Kasi Ops) of the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat), Abdul Wahid, said the fire broke out near the Muara Baru TPS on Jalan Pluit Selatan RT 16 and RT 022/RW 017 Penjaringan Village, Penjaringan District.
In RT 22/RW 17 there were eight permanent houses and six semi-permanent houses that caught fire. Meanwhile, RT 16/RW 17, one house is permanent, 20 houses are semi-permanent and 35 stalls are on fire. Temporary suspicions due to short circuits from one of the houses.
According to Abdul Wahid, when confirmed, black smoke had soared high from behind the Penjaringan 03 State Elementary School.

Around 20 firefighters (damkar) from the North Jakarta area and assistance from West Jakarta were deployed to extinguish the fire.
"The deployment of a fire unit of about 20 units consisting of 18 units north and assistance from the west is about two units with a total of 90 officers," said Wahid.
Gulkarmat officers only need until 11.34 WIB or about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. Meanwhile, the officers are still calculating the losses.
