5 Hours Of Fire Extinguishing Plastic Factory Fire In Jakarta, Officers Reveal Constraints
JAKARTA - The intense fire that occurred at the Plastic Factory, Jalan Gaga Rawa, Kalideres, West Jakarta was finally extinguished.
Head of Operations for West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Sudin Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Syarifuddin, said the cause of the fire was suspected to be due to problems with electrical installations.
"Allegedly due to damage to electrical installations," Syarifuddin said in his statement, Friday, May 19.
Syarifuddin said the object that caught fire was a plastic stall with a fairly large area. In addition, there are many flammable materials, making the extinguishing process difficult.

He added that there were 19 units with a total of 90 personnel deployed. The result for almost five hours of struggling with the final red rooster managed to extinguish the fire.
"The cooling time is 16.30 WIB, when the operation is complete 18.42 WIB," he concluded.
