The Number Of West Sulawesi Earthquake Refugees In Makassar Who Are Positive For COVID-19 Is Tens Of People

MAKASSAR - The number of refugees who were victims of the West Sulawesi (Sulbar) earthquake who were exposed to COVID-19 while in refugee camps in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, continues to grow.

Head of Public Health for the South Sulawesi Health Service (Dinkes), Husni Thamrin, said that the number of refugees exposed to COVID-19 has now reached tens.

"The entry (of the test result data) until midnight, in the Hajj Dormitory, at the Social Service, the swab is carried out. Approximately 30 people, because it was still midnight there were still being taken (to the isolas location), ”said Husni Thamrin, when contacted by VOI, Thursday, January 21.

The South Sulawesi Provincial Government is preparing PCR examinations on Mobile PCR at the evacuation site, UPT PPRSA Innang Matutu belonging to the South Sulawesi Social Service on Jalan Tamalate Makassar. Those who are confirmed positive will be taken to the COVID-19 Tourism Ambassador referral hotel.

"The governor directed the earthquake victims to be swab, because they are sorry if they become a source of infection," said Husni.

The South Sulawesi Social Service noted that 112 West Sulawesi earthquake victims are currently being accommodated in Makassar, namely in the Haji Sudiang Dormitory and the UPT Innang Matutu.

The refugees who had passed the PCR examination arrived in Makassar on Monday, January 18th. They are provided with an antigen rapid test certificate.
