5 Public Facilities Built In Kaimana, West Papua, These Are The Types
This year's Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) built five public facilities in Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province.
The Regent of Kaimana Freddy Thie said the five public facilities that were immediately built by the Ministry of PUPR were the arrangement of the Jokowi-Iriana Park, the arrangement of the JK Park (Jusuf Kalla), the arrangement of slum areas, the construction of a 5 kilometer environmental road and the construction of drinking water facilities in Kaimana City.
"We thank the Ministry of PUPR for its support and attention for Kaimana Regency through various programs that will be carried out this year," Freddy said, quoting Antara.
He said that in 2021 he and Regional Secretary Kaimana Donald Wakum met with PUPR Minister Basuki Hadi Moeljono in Jakarta.
"At that time there was an activity of Pamsimas (Community-Based Water Supply Program) in Jakarta. We used this opportunity to have an audience with the Minister of PUPR who was accompanied by all ranks starting from the Secretary General, Director General and Directors. Praise God in 2022 the Ministry of PUPR proposes the budget to be implemented in 2023," he explained.
The work on the arrangement of Jokowi-Iriana Park and JK Park in Kaimana has attracted a budget of around Rp. 25 billion, while the construction of drinking water facilities in Kaimana City has attracted a budget of around Rp. 7 billion.
"The budget is attached to the Ministry of PUPR document, not the local government," said Freddy.
Especially for the construction of clean water facilities, Freddy really appreciates the full support from the Ministry of PUPR, because clean water is a vital basic need for residents of Kaimana City.
"So far, clean water is still a major problem in Kaimana City. With the full support from the Ministry of PUPR for the construction of clean water facilities, of course the Kaimana community will be happy because in the future the need for clean water will be met properly," he said.
Freddy said that Kaimana City actually has many clean water sources, but all the facilities that have been built so far, both from the Kaimana Regional Budget, West Papua Provincial Budget and APBN, are not taken care of properly so that the facilities and infrastructure built with very expensive funds become redundant, not even a few are missing out of nowhere.

Realizing this condition, Freddy admitted that he had ordered technical agencies that partner with the provincial and central governments to maintain and properly inventory all assets handed over, then all of these assets were managed professionally so as not to become redundant.
For clean water management in Kaimana, the local district government will soon encourage the formation of regional regulations (Perda) for the Regional Regulation on Drinking Water to the local DPRD.
"Currently we already have a Clean Water UPTD, we plan to encourage it to become a BUMD. But this must be made by the Regional Regulation and requires approval from the Kaimana DPRD. We will continue to encourage this to be discussed immediately with the council," he explained.
