Commemorating HKG PKK, Iriana Jokowi Emphasizes Participatory Work Principles

JAKARTA - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo appealed to the Family Welfare Development Team to emphasize the principle of participatory work, in commemoration of the 51st Family Welfare Development Movement Unity Day (HKG PKK) in 2023.

Iriana and Wury Ma'ruf Amin and members of the Solidarity Action Organization for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM) attended the HKG PKK commemoration in Medan City, North Sumatra, Wednesday, May 17.

"I once again congratulate the PKK Movement Unity Day. This PKK movement grows from below, prioritizing the principle of participatory work, thus requiring an active role from all levels of society," said Iriana as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.

On this occasion, Iriana also had a dialogue with a number of PKK cadres.

The First Lady also appreciated the enthusiasm of the PKK cadres who had worked tirelessly.

"Thank you very much because this PKK works more than civil servants, without being paid, tirelessly. Especially if there are competitions, the cadres are very, very enthusiastic," said Iriana.

Furthermore, Iriana had a dialogue with one of the PKK cadres, Gandaria, who had joined since 1978.

Gandaria said that he would continue to join the PKK movement until the elderly.

"Until later I may be accepted by God until 80 (still join), ma'am," said Gandaria.

Iriana responded to the spirit of the PKK Mobilization Team who did not tire, and did not know age.
