If Asked To Choose, Inter Milan Vice President Javier Zanetti Prefers This Team To Be An Opponent In The Champions League Final

JAKARTA - Inter Milan stepped into the 2022/2023 Champions League final after winning 3-0 on their city rivals, AC Milan, in the last four. A 1-0 win in the second leg, Wednesday, May 17, early morning WIB, solidified their move towards Istanbul, Turkey.

In the final, Inter are still waiting for who will be the opponent. They will face the winner of the match between Real Madrid and Manchester City on June 10.

The chances of both teams are still the same. Because in the first leg, Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the second leg which took place on Thursday, May 18, early morning WIB, The Citizens had the advantage of appearing at home, namely the Etihad Stadium.

Inter Milan Vice President Javier Zanetti also supports Manchester City to qualify. The reason is to shake your head.

"I want to avoid Real Madrid because this competition seems to be made for them," Zanetti said in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

However, Zanetti didn't want to think too much of it. He admitted that the most important thing now is celebrating the certainty of his team qualifying for the Champions League final because the trip to Istanbul is not easy.

"However, the most important thing is to get here. It's a difficult road, it's not easy to play derbys in the semifinals. I did and I lost in 2003," recalls Zanetti.

Inter's move towards the final is indeed quite steep. In the group phase, they have to stab each other with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.

The Nerazzurri managed to qualify as runners-up by getting rid of Barcelona. Then Simone Inzaghi tu's team beat Porto, Benfica and Milan in the knockout phase and kept five clean sheets in six matches.

"It's difficult, but we've done great things. Awards go to teams and coaches who can react in difficult times. He (Inzaghi) doesn't talk much and is proven worthy of the final," said Zanetti.
