Ronaldo Called The Italian Super Cup Trophy To Be Juventus' Important Capital In Serie A

JAKARTA - Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo considers his team's success in winning the Italian Super Cup after beating Napoli with a score of 2-0.

Ronaldo opened Juventus' lead with a goal in the 64th minute, and Alvaro Morata sealed the Bianconeri victory with the last kick of the game, after Lorenzo Insigne missed a penalty.

"We are very happy with this win, it was a difficult (match), especially because the pitch was bad, but we were able to do it," Ronaldo told RAI Sport as reported by Antara.

"We showed a different attitude from the bad performance against Inter (Milan). That is the past, this is a very important trophy, and we hope this can give the team confidence towards the future," he added.

In the Italian League, Juve are left out of competition at the top of the standings. The Bianconeri, who have played 17 games, have only 33 points, ten points adrift of leaders AC Milan.

The Italian Super Cup trophy became the first trophy for Andrea Pirlo's coaching career, and Ronaldo believes that success means that Juve's chances of retaining the title have not disappeared.

"Milan and Inter are very strong, but I believe we have what it takes to win. It will be very difficult, but I believe the Scudetto is still possible," he concluded.
