Soetikno Soedarjo Declared Not An Intermediary In The Procurement Of Garuda Indonesia Aircraft
JAKARTA - The conglomerate Soetikno Soedarjo was present at the continuation of the trial of former Garuda Indonesia President Director, Emirsyah Satar, at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, February 13. Soetikno is suspected of paying bribes to the former President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar.
"I am a commercial advisor who is part of the manufacturer and not an intermediary or an intermediary," said Soetikno Soedarjo in a statement received on Friday, February 14.
In this regard, Soetikno stated that he was not in a position and did not have the authority to exert influence on the procurement process for Airbus A 330 and Bombardier aircraft carried out by Garuda at that time.
In the fifth trial of the Emirsyah Satar case, the respective witnesses were former Garuda Indonesia Technical Director Batara Silaban, former General Director and HR Achirina, and Garuda Corporate Planning Vice President Setijo Awibowo.
In accordance with the previous trial, three witnesses Batara, Setijo Awibowo, and Achirina revealed that there was no direction or intervention in the procurement process for Airbus A330, Airbus A320 and Bombarider CRJ 1000 aircraft by Garuda.
The witnesses stated that the team worked independently and conducted analysis, then submitted suggestions or recommendations to the board of directors meeting. After the open discussion process in the meeting, the decision of the board of directors was taken based on the team's proposal or recommendation.
The decision taken is also asked for approval from the Board of Commissioners which can cancel if it is not in accordance with Garuda's decision. Apart from being approved by the Directors of Garuda, the procurement of the Airbus A330 aircraft also received approval from Garuda's shareholder at that time, Sofyan Djalil, as the Minister of BUMN.
In yesterday's trial, Soetikno Soedarjo's legal adviser, Juan Felix Tampubolon, reminded witness Achirina who was seen several times whispering / talking to other witnesses, Setijo Awibowo during his testimony, so the judge rebuked the witnesses.
Juan Felix Tampubolon also had time to convey what witness Achirina conveyed regarding the whistleblowing system, which already exists and has been stipulated in the rules and regulations in BUMN. The witnesses also confirmed that during the leadership of Emirsyah Satar there was never a procurement that was not in accordance with the procedure.
