Flash Floods At Gunung Mas Bogor Damaged 3 Bridges, Agro-Tourism Facilities And Broken Connections
JAKARTA - As many as 3 bridges were destroyed due to flash floods in the Gunung Mas Complex, Puncak Area, Cisarua, Bogor Regency, West Java on Tuesday, January 19 yesterday.
"1 bridge was washed away by the flood, 2 bridges were damaged," said Bogor Regent Ade Yasin while visiting the evacuation site with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 20.
He said that the flood caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung tributary passing through the PTPN VIII tea plantation had also damaged a number of facilities in Gunung Mas Agro-tourism, such as the three bathrooms which were submerged and washed away.
Then the connecting road access to the Emplasement Rawadulang on Gunung Mas was badly damaged.
Ade Yasin said 180 families (KK) with 714 people were displaced due to the flash flood incident. The victims of the disaster were evacuated in several locations for fear of crowds amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are 5 locations that have become refugee camps, namely in Gunung Mas Camping 223 people, in Rawa Dulang 30 people, in Cirohani 15 people, in Retired Village 416 people, and in Citeko Village 30 people.
According to him, the victims of the disaster were only allowed to return to their respective homes when the situation began to normalize, for fear of further flash floods.
"How long do you have to evacuate depends on the situation. What is important now is that you have to meet the needs for food and other things in the evacuation," he said.
As of Wednesday evening, a number of officers were still cleaning people's houses and a number of road access from the pile of mud.
