Juventus' Late Goal Brings Sevilla's Hope Of Winning In First Leg Of Europa League Semifinals
JAKARTA - Sevilla only need a few more seconds to be able to win at home to Juventus in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final, Friday, May 12, early morning WIB.
Sevilla took the lead after Youssef En-Nesyri broke into Wojciech Szczesny's goal in the 26th minute. However, Juventus showed their mentality.
In the additional minutes of the first half or the 90+7 minute, the hosts equalized. Receiving the ball from Paul Pogba, Federico Gati defeated goalkeeper Bono to register his name on the scoreboard.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said his team had made a lot of mistakes in this match. One of them is anticipating a counterattack.
"Until the goal was created, our team had played the ball well, but when we got there, everything seemed too easy and we made too many mistakes," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia, after the game.
"On the counter-attack we missed because we did not pursue and leave a gap, also risking a second in the same state," he continued.
However, Allegri still praised the game of his team. According to him, a draw is a decent price.
"The players did well to fight back and get a decent draw that left everything to play in the second leg," said the former AC Milan coach.
The second leg of the Europa League semifinal between Sevilla and Juventus will be held on Thursday next week. The match will be played at Sevilla's headquarters, Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
