Fujian Taikuk Technology Investment Collaborates With Surge To Develop Fixed Wireless Access Worth 1 Billion US Dollars

JAKARTA - PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk alias Surge (WIFI) officially signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Fujian Taikuk Technology Investment Co., Ltd at the China (Fujian)-Indonesia Two Countries, Twin Parks Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference located at the Shangrila Ballroom Jakarta.

The signing ceremony was also carried out by the President Director of Surge, Mr. Hermansjah Haryono and Mr. Zheng Tianyi, Chairman of Fujian Taikuk Technology Investment Co Ltd. witnessed also by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan and Mr Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of Fujian Provincial Committee.

This collaboration between Surge and Fujian Taikuk Technology Investment aims to develop 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services by utilizing Surge's fiber optic infrastructure along the railway line on the island of Java. This service will penetration more than 40 million households that will be able to be felt by around 140 million people living along the railway line.

The investment value in this collaboration is worth USD 1 billion (7 billion yuan), which is intended to provide reliable and affordable connectivity services for people on the island of Java through Fixed Wireless Access, build Ultimate Data Backbone on the island of Java, and provide additional protection for Surge's fiber optic infrastructure network. The maximum potential income for this project reaches USD 1.2 billion per year.

"We will use our expertise and network to develop Chinese technology and financing to support Surge's communication network project," he added.

Surge CEO, Hermansjah Haryono, revealed that the achievement of this collaboration is a matter of pride and milestone for his party to be able to provide reliable and affordable connectivity services by the community.

"With the support of Fujian Taikuk Technology Investment, we are optimistic that we can realize the construction of the Fixed Wireless Access infrastructure which will provide benefits for around 10 million households in Java, we are also discussing with operators in optimizing the potential of this 5G FWA," explained Hermansjah.
