Breaking The Prokes, Bantul Satpol PP Temporarily Closes 25 Culinary Businesses

JAKARTA - The Civil Service Police Unit of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region has temporarily closed around 25 culinary businesses.

This closure was due to the fact that the business premises violated the health protocol (Prokes) for the prevention of COVID-19 during the enactment of Bantul Regent Instruction No.1 of 2021 concerning Limited Tightening of Community Activities (PTKM).

"The team from law enforcement has visited more than 100 business places, then from there there are about 25 business places that we closed, mostly culinary businesses," said Head of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol) PP Bantul Yulius Suharta in Bantul. from Antara, Wednesday, January 20.

According to him, the temporary closure of the business premises is valid for 1x 24 hours and 2x 24 hours. This step was taken by government officials during the daily enforcement of the COVID-19 health protocol during the PTKM policy in Bantul from 11 to 19 January 2021.

Because during the tightening following up on the government policy regarding the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in Java-Bali, joint officers were found, there were still places or business stalls that had not heeded the rules for limiting operations and the implementation of prokes.

"Our language closes to provide an opportunity for them to carry out an arrangement to be able to implement prokes, for example setting up hand washing facilities, because there are still business premises that prepare them in the dining area," he said.

He hopes that the hand washing facility for buyers is placed before entering the place of business, or in front so that visitors or buyers when entering the place of business have implemented one of these important health protocols.

"Then the seating arrangement is to keep the distance, because when we operate there are still many business owners who let them, also when someone wants to buy, they are not allowed to wear a mask, even though they shouldn't," he said.

The Head of Satpol PP also said, in addition to temporarily closing the culinary business premises, the owner was also given education on the importance of implementing the prokes, and the owner of the business owner's ID card was confiscated to then be retrieved by showing an introduction from the local village government.

"So, on average, from culinary businesses, many of which do not comply with the implementation of health services are indeed culinary business actors, if modern shops such as networked minimarkets have actually obeyed the regent's instructions, by complying with the operational opening hours and implementing the prokes," he said.
