Update On COVID-19 Cases As Of January 20: New Cases Of 12,568, Positivity Rate Continues To Increase
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 58,805 specimens were examined with the results of 12,568 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 939,948 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, January 20.
Cases recovered today have increased by 9,755 so that a total of 763,703 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 267 people and a total of 26,857 people.
The positive rate of the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) continues to increase. On January 18, the positivity rate reached 16.4 percent and January 19 reached 16.5 percent. Then, the positivity rate today was 16.6 percent.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 3,786 new cases and a total of 236,075 cases. DKI is the province with the most cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java, which has 1,814 new cases with a total of 117,570 cases. Central Java has 1,775 new cases and a total of 107,851 cases. Then, East Java has 955 new cases and a total of 102,152 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 3,885 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,484 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 830 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an increase of 627 recovered cases.
No province reported having no new cases as of today. Provinces that reported new cases under 10 were Maluku with 7 cases and West Sulawesi with 2 cases.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 8,492,766. In detail, as many as 8,356,841 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 135,925 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 79,418 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
