Celebrating Its 31st Anniversary, Coordinating Minister Luhut Asks Perindo To Prosper The Indonesian Maritime Community
JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has asked Perum Perikanan Indonesia (Perindo) to continue to contribute to the maritime world of the country.
Luhut said Perindo's contribution was made through port services, cultivation, trade and processing of fish to sea products.
"I hope that in the future Perum Perindo will continue to support the Indonesian economy and continue to improve the welfare of the Indonesian maritime community through its various business fields," he said, during the 31st Anniversary of Perum Perindo, Wednesday, January 20.
Not only that, said Luhut, Perum Perindo must also be able to improve the welfare of the existing fishermen and farmers. Therefore, he requested, that Perindo continue to develop in Indonesia through this business field.
"I believe Indonesia has great potential in the fisheries industry, especially in the port services sector, cultivation, as well as trade and processing of fish and marine products," he said.
On the same occasion, President Director of Perum Perindo Fatah Setiawan Topobroto said that the company could survive the pandemic and uncertain economic shock during 2020.
Perum Perindo will expand the land or number of partnership partners and increase the quantity and quality of cultivation from 551 partners in 2020 to 1750 partners. Perum Perindo also improves fishermen networks through collaboration with fishermen or fishermen cooperatives.
"This is to increase the production volume of fish absorption from 5,143 tons in 2020 to 12,917 tons in 2021," he explained.
Not only that, said Fatah, his party also made business model innovations. One of them is to develop integrated agribusiness for fish agribusiness. Including feed factories, capture fisheries, port management, cooperation with agencies and local governments.
"Innovations are also carried out in the context of the transformation towards the elimination of the Fisheries BUMN," he explained.
Meanwhile, Fatah said, the process of digitizing Perum Perindo will implement several strategic integrated information technology programs for all fishery business processes on the pillar of technology leadership.
"One of them is the implementation of a Cash Management System (CMS) in every fishery business transaction. This is done in anticipation of financial fraud practices within Perum Perindo," he said.
