Suggestions From Banten Ulama To Prevent Terrorism, Komjen Listyo Sigit Require Polri Members To Study The Yellow Book

JAKARTA - Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo explained the strategy for dealing with and preventing acts of terrorism if he was elected as the National Police Chief. One of them is requiring Polri members to study the yellow book.

This strategy was obtained by Komjen Listyo through dialogue with ulama and kyai in Banten while serving as the Banten Police Chief.

"As before in Banten, I once said that members are obliged to study the yellow book because we received input from the scholars we visited. To prevent the development of terrorism, one of them is by studying the yellow book,"

"Both internally and externally, I believe that what was conveyed by fellow scholars is true. We will continue that later, Sir," said Komjen Listyo, greeted by applause during the fit and proper test with Commission III DPR RI, Wednesday, 20 January.

In addition, the concept of prevention is still being continued by the National Police through various social media platforms. This three-star general believes that many are exposed to dangerous ideologies through access to social media.

For this reason, the National Police will cooperate with Kominfo in detecting, tracing and taking action against accounts or websites that spread the teachings of terrorism.

"Do not let it appear. If it appears, we will take it down. Then cooperate with religious figures, with clerical figures to then take preventive measures by providing explanations so that people are not easily exposed to such teachings," he explained.

Law enforcement is the last step after prevention, so that the appeal does not have a significant effect. However, Listyo Sigit emphasized, still paying attention to the principles of human rights (HAM).
