Motorola Edge S Will Be Powered By Snapdragon 870

JAKARTA - Today, Qualcomm has announced its newest Snapdragon 870 processor. In its official statement, it is stated that among the manufacturers who registered for the chipset is Motorola.

Now, it has been confirmed that the Motorola Edge S will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset and will be launched on January 26.

The Edge S is Motorola's first flagship phone for the Chinese market and the first Moto Edge smartphone launched in the Bamboo Curtain country. The official Chinese Lenovo account also says it will be the world's first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 870.

Snapdragon 870 is a 7nm chipset with a clock speed of 3.2Ghz. This is an overclocked version of Snapdragon 865 Plus which is an overclocked version of Snapdragon 865.

According to speculation, the Motorola Edge S will come with a 6.7-inch Full HD + punch-hole screen and a 105Hz refresh rate instead of 90Hz or 144Hz. On the front is a dual 16MP selfie camera.

On the back is a four-camera setup which includes a 64MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide lens, and the remaining two are still unknown. It is hoped that the phone will run a ZUI interface based on Android 11 OS.

The chipset is expected to be paired with 8GB or 12GB RAM and is available in a variety of storage options. Meanwhile, there is a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh which is ready to support daily use.

At the moment, we don't know if this phone will be released globally or not, but it is possible that if it does, it will stand under the Moto G umbrella.
