Illegal Waste Disposal Site In Jayamukti Bekasi Closed, Wacanakan Regency Government Becomes A Children's Main Park
BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government has closed a garbage disposal site or illegal TPS in Rawa Sentul Village, Jayamukti Village, Central Cikarang District.
Head of UPTD Hygiene Region V Bekasi Regency Environment Agency Samsuro Mandiansyah said the closure was after receiving reports from local residents.
"We received complaints from the public regarding illegal polling stations, we immediately responded, we responded, and immediately closed the illegal polling stations at the location," he said in Cikarang, Friday, May 5, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said the closure of the illegal TPS today involved 20 personnel in charge of transporting and cleaning illegal waste from the location. The organic and inorganic waste is transported to the final processing site.
"Today we deployed 20 cleaning staff personnel as well as a battery unit and a garbage truck carrying garbage to the Burangkeng TPA," he said.
Samsuro said the location could function as a useful and empowered land as a comfortable and beautiful place for the surrounding community.
"Maybe later we will coordinate with related parties so that they can be used, whether it is for children's playgrounds or others because this location is close to settlements, it would be better if we use the land instead of being a place for illegal waste disposal," he said.

He also appealed to the public to comply with applicable regulations in accordance with Bekasi Regency Regulation Number 4 of 2012 concerning public order.
"When there is a ban in the form of a banner or other rules, it must be obeyed, don't violate it. If the condition is clean, it can create a sense of comfort in itself. However, when there is an unpleasant smell of garbage and it is not pleasing to the view, in the end it can cause disease, because there are many flies and mosquitoes," he said.
He hopes that all elements of society are able to protect the surrounding environment considering that cleanliness is a shared responsibility. He also asked residents not to litter.
"If you need services related to waste problems, you can immediately contact the Bekasi Regency Environmental Service or UPTD for waste management in the nearest area," he said.
