Manado Unsrat Academics Say ASEAN Summit Increases Regional Economy
MANADO - Academic of Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat) Manado, North Sulawesi, Joy Tulung said the ASEAN Summit was able to improve the regional economy, especially those who hosted it.
"The ASEAN 2023 Summit will certainly have a positive impact on the national economy, especially in the regions," said Joy as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 5.
Moreover, he said, the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) which will host the ASEAN 2023 Summit and is believed to improve the welfare of the people in Labuan Bajo.
In this event, there will be many tourists from abroad who come to Indonesia, especially NTT.
The event, he said, was also the best momentum to promote tourism and products for local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The economic impact will spread to other provinces, as the government participates in promoting all advantages in 38 provinces in Indonesia.
North Sulawesi also hopes that the ASEAN 2023 Summit in Indonesia will revive the economy after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Business actors and local governments, he said, must take advantage of this international event opportunity, because the impact will definitely be on all sectors supporting the economy.
