11-Year-Old Child Drowned In A Fish Pond Restaurant In Palangka Raya

JAKARTA - A child in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan Province with the initials MS (11) who is still an elementary school (SD) student was found dead in a fish pond in a local city restaurant, Tuesday, around 13.40 WIB.

Head of Criminal Investigation of Pahandut Police, Ipda Andri Wicaksono confirmed that the child died allegedly because he drowned in a fish pond.

"The information that I got earlier that his body was found in a fish pond. We have also conducted the investigation of the crime scene (TKP)," said Andri.

His party will also carry out an investigation to find out exactly what happened to the child.

Apart from carrying out the crime scene, members of the police who came to the scene also asked for information from a number of eye witnesses who really knew about the incident.

"Based on the information that the victim was released from the supervision of his brother who was carrying out the task from his campus, namely the Field Experience Practice (PPL) at the scene, and the victim also happened to be unable to swim," he also said.

At the same location, Sardani, the victim's brother, revealed that he did not expect this to happen to his younger brother who was in the location where he was a PPL.

The student of the Faculty of Fisheries, University of Palangka Raya added that even before the incident, he still had time to see the victim playing swings around the location. But only realized after only seeing the victim's sandals by the pool.

"I took him to the location, honestly I didn't expect it," he said sadly.

Meanwhile, according to local residents, Irawadi Gunawan, who was also looking for victims, said that previously he had heard people asking for help, so he joined in searching for the victim's whereabouts.

After a while the victim was found, but was already weak and finally brought to a health clinic.

"Yes, drowning in the pool. For the chronology I don't know at all. It's just that I heard someone's voice asking for help and immediately carried out a search until they finally found him, but he was already weak," said Gunawan.
