Floods Soak The Residential Housing Of Antang Makassar
MAKASSAR - High rainfall causes floods to submerge settlements in Perumnas Antang, Makassar. There are 61 residents who fled.
"Regarding the number of refugees, 61 people are in Antang because they are just getting ready, don't let the rain continue, we usually pay attention to everything," said Head of the Makassar City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Muhammad Rusli, to VOI Tuesday, January 19.
The flood that submerged residential areas in Perumnas Antang, Manggala District, was about 60-80 cm high.
"That in Antang is 60-80 cm water level, hopefully it has receded," he said.
BPBD has sent assistance in terms of medical equipment and a number of logistical assistance for people who are currently displaced.
"So all of our members have evacuated and thank God, all have been served in terms of health, assistance, assistance that we have provided such as logistics, blankets and others," said Rusli.
The previous flood in Makassar occurred in December 2020. The flood submerged residential areas in Perumnas Antang, Manggala District, Makassar City, with a water level of about 1 meter.
