Close To The ASEAN Summit, The Indonesian Ambassador To Represent The Government Attends The Appointment Of King Charles III

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ambassador to the United Kingdom concurrently Ireland and the International Maritime Organization will represent the Indonesian Government to attend theappropriation of King Charles III this weekend.

In early April, the official invitation from the British Government to the President was received by the Indonesian Embassy and forwarded to the Center.

"In this regard, the President has sent a letter to King Charles III on April 14, 2023, congratulating the government and the people of Indonesia," wrote Ambassador Desra in his statement.

"The invitation is addressed to the Head of State or Head of Government, in this case President Joko Widodo. Through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the President of the Republic of Indonesia gave directions for the Indonesian Ambassador of London to represent Indonesia. This is because the President must be in Indonesia to prepare the ASEAN Summit 9 -11 May 2023," continued the statement.

This is the second time Ambassador Desra Percaya has represented the Indonesian government in an official event held by the British Empire. Last year, he was present representing the government at the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

As previously reported, more than 2,200 people will attend King Charles England'appropriation, Buckingham Palace said, including international representatives from 203 countries as well as community workers and charities.

The congregation, which will attend theappropriation at Westminster Abbey, London on Saturday, May 6, will also consist of Nobel Prize winners, religious representatives to heads of state and foreign ministers, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
