WhatsApp Trial Feature Of Special Voice Message Transcription For IOS Users
JAKARTA - WhatsApp has just launched a trial of a special iPhone user feature, Voice Message Transcription. This feature is currently available on the IOS TestFlight application.
Judging from the view, it is possible that the new feature will not be present on the Android platform in the near future. The Voice Message Transcription feature describes voice messages as text so that recipients can read them instead of listening to audio.
This feature is quite useful when users are in noisy places, where they cannot play audio.
That way, Voice Message Transcription will help make user communication much more flexible and accessible.
In the WABetaInfo screenshot, a new box added just below the voice clip and transcription feature will start appearing on the screen when the user plays the audio.
This feature will be enabled by default. However, users can disable it if they don't want to use it. To disable it, just open WhatsApp Settings click Chat and Voice Message Transcript and then disable the feature.
Users can also search for certain content in voice messages. The device will automatically index the transcribed voice records.
If users have a lot of voice records and search for certain content, they can easily find them. Just type certain keywords in the search bar, transcription will then highlight the text of the voicemail.
In addition, according to a report quoted from GizChina, Wednesday, May 3, this feature supports end-to-end encryption, meaning the data is not transferred to an external server and will remain private.
The Voice Message Transcription will also take advantage of the language package already on the device, meaning that transcription will not be available for all iOS devices.
WhatsApp will use the latest API from iOS 16 which allows voice transcription to be processed locally on devices.
