Worryingly, 25 Rooms Left In The ICU For COVID-19 Patients In Bekasi
JAKARTA - The Bekasi District Health Office, West Java noted that there are currently 25 rooms in the "Intensive Care Unit" (ICU) at the referral hospital for COVID-19 patients.
Head of the Bekasi District Health Office Sri Enny Mainiarti said of a total of 78 ICU rooms spread across 49 referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients, 53 of them have been filled.
"So there are still 25 ICU rooms out of 78 available ICU rooms in 49 COVID-19 referral hospitals," he said in Cikarang, launched by Antara, Tuesday, January 19.
Meanwhile, the level of filling in isolation rooms or treatment for COVID-19 patients at the referral hospital currently reaches 682 out of a total of 823 treatment rooms.
He admitted that he had asked the management of the referral hospital to add more ICU rooms to anticipate a spike in COVID-19 cases in his area.
"The beds for COVID-19 isolation at referral hospitals will continue to be added considering the number of cases is quite high," he said.
Sri Enny appealed to the public to remain disciplined in implementing COVID-19 health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance and avoiding crowds.
"Prokes must still be implemented, that is the main key to preventing the spread of corona," he said.
The latest data from the official website of the Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force, pikokabsi.bekasikab.go.id, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 noted that there were 163 additional positive cases, 218 recovered patients, and the death rate increased by seven from 191 to 198.
Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed positive cases in Bekasi Regency currently reaches 11,703 people. 10,642 have been declared cured, 198 died, and 863 people are in care, both in hospital and in independent isolation.
