Geely Collaborates With Tencent To Develop Smart Car Technology
JAKARTA - China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, announced a cooperation agreement with Tencent Holdings Ltd., to develop a smart vehicle cockpit and autonomous driving system.
In this collaboration, the two companies will jointly develop a smart car cockpit to have more mobile service and mobility applications.

The agreement with Tencent confirms Geely's ambition to work on the electric car and smart car markets. Tencent itself also invests in a number of electric car manufacturers, such as Tesla and Nio.
This is the third agreement Geely has made in the near future. Previously, Geely launched a smart electric vehicle development partnership with Baidu Inc. Then, together with Foxconn, Geely worked together to provide the car maker with a manufacturing contract.
Regarding the collaboration with Baidu, the duo will not only be a competitor for Elon Musk with his Tesla. But also with electric vehicle manufacturers, including manufacturers from China.
"We believe in combining Baidu's expertise in smart transportation, connected vehicles and autonomous steering with Geely's expertise as a leading car and EV manufacturer.
