Research Reveals Collection Of Passwords That Can Be Solved In Seconds

JAKARTA - Recent research conducted by Hive System reveals that hackers can break your password in seconds, despite the length of more than 10 characters.

"With the use of easy-to-access artificial intelligence tools and hardware, hackers are never in an easier position to gain access to our personal data. Without additional protection, I don't think we can think of our data as safe," said Alex Nette, CEO and Co-founder of Hive Systems., quoted through DailyMail.

According to the study, codewords with lengths 4 to 11 characters can be broken instantly by hackers. While passwords with a length of 12 characters can be solved with only one second.

Even worse, Nette said that passwords that have 18 digits could be hacked in less than a week.

More than that, Hive said the password containing the lower letter could be a little safer. However, not with the total use of small letters. The passwords for 11 small letter characters can be easily solved by hackers, with only 30 minutes.

Well, for that, the company suggests mixing the lowercase letters with the big letters. Because, if you add seven small letters into those 11 codeword characters, it will take hackers more than 480,000 years to solve them.

Thus, Hive mentions that the safest password is the one containing different mixes of numbers, symbols, and capital letters. This may be solved instantly if it is four to seven characters long, but if it uses 12 characters, then the hacker will take 226 years to solve it.

"If you add six extra characters to this same password, it will take hackers 26 trillion years to break into it," said Hive Systems.
