Unhas Students Who Are Earthquake Victims Temporarily Released From UKT, These Are The Conditions

JAKARTA - Hasanuddin University (Unhas) students who were affected by the earthquake in West Sulawesi (Sulbar) will be temporarily exempted from paying the Single Tuition Fee (UKT).

This policy is stated in Decree Number 266 / UN4.1 / KEP / 2021 dated January 18, 2021.

Head of Sub-Directorate of Public Relations and Public Information of the Unhas Communication Directorate, Ishaq Rahman AMIPR, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 19, explained that this assistance applies to students at the undergraduate level, the medical profession, dentists, veterinarians, nurses, and physiotherapy.

One of the considerations of this policy is the occurrence of a disaster that causes a decrease in the economic capacity of the student's parents or other parties who pay for student studies.

In order to obtain temporary exemption from UKT payments, students at various levels of the program in this decision are asked to make an application letter addressed to the chancellor and the faculty dean.

Students are required to submit two documents. First, a statement from the village head or village head stating that it is true that the student concerned was directly affected by the earthquake in West Sulawesi.

Second, a statement from parents or other financial parties that it is true that this natural disaster has caused property damage and loss of livelihoods.

Apart from these two documents, students were also asked to include a photo of the house before the disaster (if any) and a photo of the house after the disaster.

Meanwhile, students who apply for temporary exemption from UKT payments are asked to access the https://regmhs.unhas.ac.id page to process applications online. Submissions can be made before January 28, 2021.

Furthermore, the integrated financial team will verify student applications and provide recommendations whether to accept or reject.

Temporary exemption from UKT payments to approved students will be delivered through a Chancellor's Decree no later than 3 (three) days before the UKT payment period ends.

The UKT temporary exemption policy for students affected by the earthquake in West Sulawesi is only valid for the final semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.

The UKT payment period for this semester is scheduled to end on February 5, 2021.
