All Victims Found, SAR Team Shuts Down The Sumedang Landslide Searching Operation
JAKARTA - The Bandung Search and Rescue Team (SAR) and joint elements closed the search for landslide victims in Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency, West Java, Monday after all the victims were found.
Reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 19, Head of the Bandung SAR Office Deden Ridwansyah said the search was declared closed after one victim in the remaining search was found at 21:13 WIB so that 40 victims buried so far were found and evacuated by the SAR Team.
"This success is due to good cooperation between elements in the field, so that all victims who were victims of this landslide disaster were successfully evacuated on this 10th day," said Deden at the Joint SAR Coordination Post in Cimanggung, Sumedang Regency.
On the 10th day of the search, he said, eight people had been found since the search began in the morning. Therefore, he stated that this search was in accordance with the target, which was completed on three days of extension of the search.
Previously, the SAR Team said the search process was extended to three days after the search turned seventh on Friday, January 15. The landslide incident itself occurred on Saturday, January 19 evening and at night.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sumedang Police, AKBP Eko Prasetyo, said that in the last three days, the weather in the area was quite supportive of the search process.
In addition, so far all the victims who died, amounting to 40 people, have been identified by doctors from the police.
"Tonight has also been identified, so that the victim can be immediately buried by the family, thanks to the synergy of everything and this is God's will," said Eko.
