PDIP Select Ganjar Pranowo As Presidential Candidate With Puan Maharani's Great Heart

PDIP has officially chosen Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate (candidate) from PDIP in the 2024 presidential election. The election of Ganjar as PDIP presidential candidate is seen as the result of the generosity of Puan Maharani, the daughter of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Previously, the names of Puan and Ganjar had narrowed as candidates for presidential candidate from PDIP. However, Puan chose to support Ganjar, who he considered to be more concerned with the interests of the group than with personal interests.

"The magnitude of the heart shown by Puan means that the Speaker of the DPR pays more attention to the interests of the group than personal interests," said Political Communication Analyst Silvanus Alvin, Sunday (23/4/2023).

As the son of the PDIP leader, Puan could force herself to run as a presidential candidate and get a lot of support from internal parties. However, he showed maturity in politics by providing input on the determination of Ganjar as a PDIP presidential candidate.

In the view of Political Communication Analyst Silvanus Alvin, Puan's actions show an important greatness of the heart in making wise and fair political decisions.

"Without great heart, it will be difficult for a politician to make wise and fair decisions," said the Lecturer of Political Communication at Multimedia University, Nusantara (UMN).

Alvin continued, the election of Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate and Puan Maharani to lead the victory in the 2024 presidential election proved that PDIP was very harmonious. Although there was a difference in the views of the presidential candidates among PDIP cadres, when Megawati had decided, all were upright.

"One of the interesting things about determining the reward as PDIP Presidential Candidate is the internal harmony of the party. This shows maturity in politics within PDIP," said Alvin.

"PDIP has the capital to start in its entire and harmonious manner. There will be no friction between Puan and Ganjar, or the sympathizers of the two," he continued.

On the other hand, Alvin argues, harmonious political parties have an advantage ahead of the upcoming 2024 elections. According to him, internal harmony within the party will increase public trust.

"In a harmonious situation, political parties can show that they focus on the interests of the people and not on their own interests," said Alvin.

Unlike a number of other parties that prioritize 'legacy' in determining presidential candidates, PDIP prioritizes greater interests. Alvin assessed that PDIP already has advantages in terms of structural parties that can be a big capital in fights in elections because it does not have ripples internally.

Thanks to Puan's generosity in being upright towards party decisions, PDIP is considered to be able to excel in terms of campaign effectiveness. Because Puan's generosity in keeping the internal party harmonious shows that PDIP has a clear vision and plan and can easily communicate their message to voters.

"This can help political parties gain more support and win elections," said Alvin.

The same thing was conveyed by the Director of the Nusakom Pratama Political Studies Institute, Ari Junaedi. According to him, Puan's generosity in the appointment of Ganjar as a presidential candidate shows good solidity from PDIP.

"Everything is one, chaotic in the leadership of Megawati. Puan proves the state class," said Ari.

The University of Indonesia (UI) Political Communications lecturer assessed that Puan's generosity was also seen by her attitude in receiving an assignment from Megawati to form a winning team for Ganjar in the presidential election. Ari said that Puan's staff had brought all PDIP cadres back together after having had different views on the presidential candidate's choice.

"You can accept differences and reunite various differences by accepting the task of winning Ganjar," he said.

Ari said that Puan's assignment as a combat commander to win Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election is proof of the absence of rivalry and competition between factions in the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol. This is very important considering that the 2024 presidential election has a tough and tight competition.

"The advantage will be even more ensured if the winning orchestration conductor is in the right hands," Ari concluded.
