Women's Singles Asked To Maximize At The 2023 Asian Championships
JAKARTA The women's singles coach Indra Widjaja wants his team to perform optimally at the 2023 Asian Championship which will take place on April 25-30 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Putri Kusuma Wardani, and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, will appear in the event. The three of them are expected to perform according to what they got in training.
"If you look at the opponents, there is nothing to be taken lightly. I hope that what they have got in training can be brought to the match later," he added.
Preparations for the event so far have been running without obstacles. The injury disorders experienced, especially by Komang, have gradually improved.
"Preparation runs without problems, especially injury constraints. Yesterday on the European tour, Komang did not go all due to injury. But in the past two weeks the training has been good and his condition has gradually recovered," said Indra.
Indra said hope in the women's singles is currently relatively large after Gregoria won the Spain Masters earlier this month.
"Seeing that Gregoria and Putri's results are quite good on the European tour, we continue to prepare them, especially mentally and how the potential opponents will be. Especially for Grego, we want to see his consistency again like yesterday's European tour, that's also what we prepared," said Indra.
The Indonesian team will depart for Dubai on Sunday, April 23 in the morning at 00.30 WIB using Emirates Airlines.
