New Radicals Reunion At Joe Biden And Kamala Harris Inauguration Night
JAKARTA - The 90s alternative band, New Radicals, will appear for the first time in 20 years at the inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as President and Vice President of the United States.
Launching Rolling Stone today, Monday, January 18, New Radicals will appear at the event as a form of support for Biden and Harris.
“America knows in its heart that the world will shine again with new leadership and concrete plans for vaccines. That's the message from the song… the world will pass by, ”said Gregg Alexander, the frontman of New Radicals.
The name New Radicals became known again after one of their songs, You Get What You Give was played when Kamala Harris's husband, Doug Emhoff walked from the campaign stage. The song was released by New Radicals in 1998.
This song is also one of the most influential songs in Joe Biden's life. Through his autobiography: Promise Me, Dad, Joe wrote that the song You Get What You Give became their family's passionate song for Beau Biden when fighting cancer.
"To sing this song after such a long time is an honor because we have a lot of respect for Beau's military and hope for unity then Joe and Kamal will bring our country again in the midst of crisis."
New Radicals is scheduled to appear in a virtual inauguration parade, the closing ceremony after the inauguration on January 20.
Previously, Lady Gaga will sing the United States national anthem on the day of the inauguration.
