Memories Of Farida Pasha 'Turn On' Mak Lampir In The 90's Sinetron, The Mystery Of Mount Merapi
JAKARTA - The mystery soap opera Mount Merapi is based on a folk tale, namely about Lampir who was locked up in a coffin with a verse of the Koran written by Kyai Angeng Prayogo, a messenger of Sunan Kudus. Sunan Kudus was ordered by Raden Patah who wanted to destroy the heretical teachings brought by Mak Lampir. Farida Pasha succeeded in "bringing" the figure of Mak Lampir to life with her scary and hoarse laughter.
Mak Lampir's voice was originally famous through the radio play of the same name. Radio plays were the prima donna of the 80s to 90s. Then the legend of the Mystery of Mount Merapi which was popular at that time was successfully brought to the screen in February 1999.
In the radio version, Mak Lampir is dubbed by Asriati. The distinctive and hoarse laughter made him always be remembered by radio listeners. The same thing was done by Farida Pasha who played the soap opera version of Mak Lampir. During the three seasons the Mystery of Mount Merapi has aired, Farida is still loyal to her hoarse and slightly scary laughter.
The main character, Mak Lampir, has become phenomenal until now. To the extent that, the audience is more familiar with Mak Lampir than the title of the soap opera. Mak Lampir looks creepy with long white dreadlocks hair with his favorite stick.
Mak Lampir himself can predict through a bowl filled with water, so it is very easy for him to know what happened at Raden Patah's palace. Once upon a time, a battle broke out between Mak Lampir and Kyai Ageng Prayogo. Mak Lampir was not alone, he asked the Queen of the South Coast, Gusti Roro Kidul. The Queen who agreed asked him to sacrifice seven holy babies for a magic whip.
The mystery of Mount Merapi has been running for five years or three seasons. Indosiar's flagship soap opera almost always gets high ratings in every episode. Through the cold hands of director M.Abnar Romli and ED.Pesta Sirait, Mak Lampir greeted the audience in 261 episodes. This record almost equals to Tersanjung which hit seven seasons with 370 episodes at that time.
Not only Farida Pasha who plays the role of Mak Lampir, the soap opera Mystery of Mount Merapi has also succeeded in giving birth to many talented stars such as Marcelino, Yuni Sulistyawati, Rizal Djibran, Wulan Guritno, Monica Oemardi and many more. Colossal-themed soap operas had indeed become the prima donna of their own in the late 90s to early 2000s such as Tutur Tinular, Angling Dharma, Walisongo, Damar Wulan and Singgasana Brama Kumbara.
Farida Pasha died on January 16, 2021 at 19.35 WIB. He died at the age of 68. Farida Pasha's departure is known from Ify Alyssa's Instagram upload.
