Peak Homecoming Flow Occurs D-1 Eid Al-Fitr, Ministry Of Transportation Asks Travelers To Set Travel Time
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation asked the public to arrange homecoming times so that they do not pile up during the peak of the homecoming flow, namely D-4 to D-1 Lebaran or April 18 to 21, 2023.
Head of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Pitra Setiawan, said previously the peak of the homecoming flow was predicted to occur on D-1 or April 21, but once there was an adjustment of the joint leave time, there was a possibility of a surge in passengers since April 18 evening.
"Therefore, we ask the public to go home early and avoid the peak of the homecoming flow," he told reporters, Monday, April 17.
According to Pitra, the successful implementation of this Eid Transport is also expected to play an active role from the community so that responsibility is not only in the government.
"Thus we hope that the community before traveling to plan and manage the journey well. Starting from preparing the vehicle, the driver's physical condition, route, and time. So that all travelers are not hampered by their journey, smooth, and most importantly in arriving safely at their destination," he said.
In addition, said Pitra, along with the increasing movement of motorcycle travelers at the end of last week, it is recommended that motorcyclists using national arterial roads pay attention to rest times.
"We suggest that travelers using private cars or motorbikes can pay attention to rest time every 4 hours. Especially for our motorbike travelers at the Directorate General of Hubdat provide rest areas at UPPKB such as Losarang and Balonggandu which are used to rest," he said.
Pitra also appealed to travelers to remain careful during the trip even though there were no congestion.
"Although currently there is no high traffic density, keep the distance of vehicles and obey traffic signs and also directions from officers in the field. I also ask travelers who pass through arterial routes to be aware of the spilled market on the right and left of the road," he said.
