Chelsea Still Slumped

JAKARTA - Chelsea extended their winless record after being beaten by Brighton & Hove Albion with a score of 1-2 in Matchday 31 of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening of Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

The Blues took the lead through Conor Gallagher's quick goal before two goals from Danny Welbeck and Julio Enciso buried Chelsea's chance of winning their first since beating Leicester 3-0 on March 11.

This victory confirmed Brighton in seventh place in the standings with 49 points, five points ahead of Liverpool in eighth. Meanwhile, Chelsea slumped in 11th place with 39 points, according to the record of the English Premier League's official website.

The first dangerous opportunity was created by Brighton in the 4th minute through Alexis Mac Allister's shot near the goal, but the direction of the ball was still wide.

Three minutes later, Chelsea attacked back through Mykhailo Mudryk's shot from outside the penalty box which was also wide.

Mac Allister threatened Chelsea again in the 8th minute. Starting with Mitoma's individual action, he then provided a pulling ball to Mac Allister who then fired a shot. However, it has not met the target.

Evan Ferguson nearly opened the scoring for Brighton a minute later, if only his shot from outside the box missed the post.

As reported by ANTARA, Chelsea managed to score the first goal through Conor Gallagher in the 12th minute. Starting with Enzo's pass to Mudryk in the middle of the pitch, the winger drilled down the middle and clipped a short cross for Gallagher whose shot from outside the box found the bottom left corner of Robert Sanchez's net. The home team is 1-0 up.

Before the first half ended, Brighton managed to equalize precisely in the 42nd minute. Danny Welbeck listed his name on the scoreboard after heading the ball from Pascal Gross's bait.

The first half ended with a score 1-1. Entering the second half, Brighton appeared to attack and did not give Chelsea the opportunity to develop their game.

Brighton turned 2-1 ahead in the 68th minute through Ensico's goal. Soley March dribbled the ball in the middle and gave it to Ensico who was outside the penalty box.

Ensico fired a powerful shot that hit the right corner of Kepa Arrizabalaga's goal.

After falling behind, Chelsea tried to equalize the score, but their efforts were always broken by the Brighton defense. Until the game ended, Brighton still won with a score of 2-1.
