The Head Of Pontianak Health Office Is Ready To Impose Sanctions For Health Workers Who Refuse The COVID-19 Vaccine

JAKARTA - Head of the Health Office of the City of Pontianak, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), Sidiq Handanu, stated that his party would trace health workers (Nakes) who did not attend the vaccination invitation.

"We will trace who the health workers are, then which employee, the reason for not being present at the time of vaccination," said Sidiq Handanu in Pontianak as reported by Antara, Sunday, January 17.

He explained that the absence of health workers without the support of strong reasons or just because it is deliberate will get sanctions.

"The health workers are also getting ready to be given sanctions, of course we will do an explanation and approach. If they still refuse then they will get sanctions," he said.

Meanwhile, for health workers who experience delays, re-registration will be carried out for vaccination. In the last 3 days, there were 42 health workers who re-registered.

Data from the Health Office of Pontianak City, recorded that since January 14-16, 2021, 313 people have registered, of which 289 people attended.

Furthermore, there were 209 people who deserved to be immunized, 42 people experienced delays and 32 people were not eligible because of congenital diseases.

He added that as many as 5,500 health workers will be targeted for the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination in the Pontianak City area.

"For the first stage, according to the direction of the central government, we prioritize this vaccination for health workers and field workers in Pontianak City," said Sidiq.

According to him, which includes health workers, namely people who are involved in the medical field, ranging from doctors, nurses and others.

"But of the 5,500 health workers, not all of them can be vaccinated, but they will be sorted again, because those who have been exposed cannot be vaccinated for a while while waiting for further developments, including those with other diseases," said Sidiq.

"After the health workers have finished being vaccinated, then it is followed by vaccination for the TNI / Polri and ASN as well as for teachers whose duties have a lot of direct contact with the community, then proceed to the general public," he said.
