Search For Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 Today: 26 Bags Of Victim's Body Parts And 9 Pieces Of Aircraft
JAKARTA - Basarnas Operations and Training Director Bambang Suryo Aji said the search for the joint SAR team on the day found dozens of findings related to the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft.
Based on data recorded at 20.00 WIB, there were an additional 26 body bags containing parts of the victim's body. Then, the aircraft debris found increased by 9, with details of 1 large and 8 small pieces.
Thus, the total findings of the SAR team until the sixth day were 298 body bags containing body parts. Then, there are 105 aircraft materials, with details of 54 small bags containing aircraft debris and 51 large aircraft pieces.
"Tonight we are still carrying out the search by maximizing the lighting there," said Bambang at the JICT II Command Post, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Saturday, January 16.
In the search that continues this evening, the SAR operation remains in the same area for the search for priority evacuation of victims and pieces of material from the aircraft.
Meanwhile, the search for a black box with a cockpit voice recorder (CVR) type that has not been found, the SAR team will conduct a search using the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) robot.
"Tonight the CVR search is still being carried out using the ROV. For the night dive operation it was stopped due to limited lighting. So, tonight the focus of the CVR search is using ROV," he said.
