Garuda Indonesia Aircraft Are 'Injected' With The COVID-19 Vaccine, This Is How It Looks
JAKARTA - The national airline Garuda Indonesia has launched a special livery in support of the COVID-19 vaccination program. The design is installed on the B737-800NG fleet which will serve various domestic flight routes. The special livery is displayed on both sides of the aircraft through a visual symbol of the national vaccination campaign that reads #S SukseskanVaksinasi.
Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfaniaputra said that his party is committed to always supporting and running in line with the government's efforts to tackle the pandemic.
"Through this step, we certainly hope that we can voice the spirit of vaccination for the country through creative ways, which hopefully can increase public awareness and confidence in the importance of vaccination," he said in a press release statement on Saturday, January 16.
Furthermore, Irfan explained that as part of its ongoing support, the company through its air cargo business line services plays an active role in transporting the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Sinovac from Beijing to Jakarta.
For information, until now Garuda Indonesia has served three stages of vaccine transportation, namely as many as 1.2 million doses of vaccine in the first phase of transportation on December 6, 2020.
Meanwhile, in the second phase at the end of December 2020, this state-owned airline in the aviation sector managed to transport 1.8 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Furthermore, in early 2021, Garuda Indonesia returned to transport the raw materials for the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Sinovac, which will be further processed by Bio Farma to meet the need for 15 million doses of vaccine.
"We believe that the implementation of this vaccination program will foster public confidence and optimism in restoring health and reviving the national economy," he said.
Previously, in October 2020, Garuda had issued a special livery with a mask on the front of the plane. The use of this design resembles an airplane wearing a mask.
This step was taken to participate in educating the public about the importance of using masks during the pandemic as an effort to prevent transmission.
