TNI Commander Distributes President Jokowi's Assistance To South Kalimantan Flood Victims
JAKARTA - The TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto distributed aid from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the flood disaster site in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. This assistance was in the form of 34 rubber boats with outboard motors, blankets, and 10,000 packages of basic necessities.
"Currently, the TNI has established disaster posts and field kitchens, as well as accommodating and distributing aid to the community. Bringing heavy equipment to open cut access roads, bringing in clean water from areas that are not affected," said the TNI Commander in a written statement quoted by Antara, Saturday. , January 16th.
The TNI Commander and entourage also visited the flood location in Liang Anggang District, Banjarbaru. The TNI commander said TNI soldiers would continue to evacuate residents and search for missing victims together with the National SAR Agency, the Police, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, and volunteers.
There were also 1,053 joint personnel deployed consisting of soldiers from Kodam VI / Mulawarman, Army Air Transport Battalion, Navy Marine Corps, Air Force Special Forces Corps, and TNI Air Force soldiers.
Not only sending TNI soldiers to help with the evacuation, the TNI Commander also sent assistance for the main weapon system (alutsista).
"If a helicopter is needed, we will prepare it," said the TNI Commander.
Previously, the Commander of Korem 101 / Antasari Brigadier General TNI Firmansyah had reported the general situation and conditions in South Kalimantan related to the Flood disaster this time to the TNI Commander.
Welcoming the explanation from Danrem 101 / Antasari, the TNI Commander requested that a solution be sought immediately in relation to the reported problems so that the people affected by the disaster are served well.
