Kvelertak Tells The Extinct Norwegian Woman And The Fierce In The Endling Album
JAKARTA - Norwegian rock unit Kvelertak will release a new album titled Endling on September 8 through Rise Records/Petroleum Records.
The official music video for the album's first single, Krkahterveg Te Helvete has been released and can be seen below.
"Kr!terveg Te Helvete is a celebration of an unbearable level of difficulty as it is in a popular rock band in 2023," Kvelertak was quoted as saying by Blabbermouth, Wednesday.
Thematically, Endling continues the critically recognized path of the album Splid in 2020 which received a press award from Stereogum, MetalSucks, Kerrang!, Revolver, Invisible Oranges, Blabbermouth, Guitar World, and more. However, in this album, they dig further local knowledge and legend.
"At Endling, we tell the story of Norwegian men and women who are extinct and dying. Myths, culture, and old and new rituals come to life - folklore that don't match the concept of TV series. Viking and troll are for television. This is a real deal," said guitarist Vidar Landa.
"At sunset, when the cattle were released, followed in the footsteps cut by the footprints of Rasmus Vardal, rock robbers came again, shouting Kielland was dead, Kielland's life!," Kvelertal exclaimed.
