Adakan Pasar Kaget Ramadan, Menkop UKM: Jadi Ajang Promotion Produk UMKM

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) collaborated with Smesco in organizing the Ramadan Shock Market to welcome Eid al-Fitr, which was held at the Smesco Indonesia Building, on 10-15 April 2023.

"The shocked market, which was held until April 15, 2023, involved 60 stands which were attended by more than 100 SMEs or participants," said MenKopUKM Teten Masduki in his official statement, quoted on Tuesday, April 11.

By utilizing the vast land beside the Smesco Building, Minister Teten asked that this potential be utilized so that there is room for MSME players to market their products. So, in the long term, Smesco is at the forefront of MSMEs.

"The holding of the Ramadan Smesco Market in 2023 is expected to be a promotion and marketing event for MSME products in meeting the needs of the community," he said.

Teten is very optimistic, together, his party can continue to increase the turnover of MSMEs by bringing them closer to the market, such as the implementation of the Bazaar.

"It's time to start buying and using domestic products, to regularly implement the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement, this will certainly have a very significant impact, also for consumers to get superior products because we have curated the products," he said.

Furthermore, said Teten, Smesco must be an ecosystem for the development of MSMEs. "I hope that the Ramadan Bazaar can help MSMEs so that they can increase their turnover during this fasting month," he said.

On the same occasion, President Director of Smesco Indonesia Leonard Theosabrata said, Smesco had collaborated withLAHats in building a kitchen together for SME players in the field of food and drinks.

The joint kitchen that was built is a form of Smesco's support in utilizing technology in the field of F&B in the form of a Retort machine. Retort is a machine to process food sterilization that allows food products to be stored at room temperature for up to 12 months.

"So, the SME F&B participants of the Ramadan Bazaar can take advantage of the joint kitchen to make products that are currently marketed can last or last up to 12 months at room temperature," said Leonard.

With the presence of a joint kitchen, he continued, SMEs can receive an additional margin of up to 20 percent by reducing production and marketing operational costs. With the Retort machine, later it can produce food products for one month, can be done in just two to three days.

"This means that SMEs can save on production costs, by paying the rental of the production site for three days and paying for employees who can currently be based on daily life," concluded Leonard.

Apart from Smesco, the Ramadan Bazaar was also held at the At Thohir Mosque, Gunung Putri, Bogor, West Java, starting April 1-16, 2023 which involved 19 Food and Beverage SMEs, as well as six Fashion SMEs.

Tak hanya itu, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) juga menjadi salah satu lokasi pelaksanaan Smesco Bazaar Ramadan mulai 24 hingga 27 April 2023 yang melibatkan 20 UKM F&B, 10 UKM Craft, dan 10 UKM Fashion.
