Defeat Gemke, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting To The Semifinals Of Thailand Open
JAKARTA - Anthony Sinisuka Ginting continued his struggle to the semifinals of the Thailand Open after defeating Danish representative Rasmus Gemke in the quarter-finals at Impact Arena, Bangkok, Friday.
Anthony, seeded fifth won the match 21-14, 19-21, 21-5 over world number 17, Gemke.
According to Antara, this victory was the first for the world number six. Anthony had previously met Gemke when he was beaten by two straight games in the first round of the 2020 All England.
The first game was quite tough. The two players share points. The attempts to chase each other's numbers kept on repeating itself until Anthony excelled at the 11-10 interval.
After the interval, Anthony did not let his opponent catch up. The player who was born in Cimahi, West Java, successfully maintained his superiority to finish the first game with a score of 21-14.
Anthony had to play the second game with difficulty. He was far behind at the 6-11 interval. The second game could have belonged to Anthony had he been able to catch up with the points behind at 17-18 and 19-20.
The match also had to continue into a rubber game because the second game was closed with a score of 21-19 for Rasmus Gemke's victory.
