The Galaxy S21 Can Be The Spare Key Of Audi, Ford To BMW Cars
JAKARTA - Samsung has announced its cooperation with a number of car manufacturers. The agreement resulted in additional advanced features in the Samsung Galaxy S21, namely the new device that can control famous cars such as Ford, BMW, Audi and Genesis.
This feature can be a key "spare" for the owner of a car of one of the manufacturers' brands when the vehicle keys are left somewhere. The South Korean tech giant is partnering with a number of well-known car manufacturers to bring the digital lock function to the Galaxy S21 device.
Launching Sammobile, this feature is expected to launch soon this year. Since there are industry standards that support the technology, digital keys can finally be shared across smartphones. This means that users can share their digital car keys with other colleagues, regardless of the brand of their cellphone.
The company revealed that this feature will be equipped with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology. Mobile devices will be able to detect low-energy vibrations from cars using UWB. When the user approaches the car, this technology will automatically unlock the vehicle door.
With this UWB technology, users will also be given the convenience of finding their car in a full parking lot. This feature is very useful for users who often forget where their car is in public parking lots.
Not only that, Samsung is also bringing an augmented reality (AR) based viewfinder to the UWB device. Cellphones that come with UWB technology include the Galaxy S21 +, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
"Samsung has made a significant investment in UWB technology, because we recognize its enormous potential in revolutionizing the way we use smart devices to organize our lives," wrote Samsung on its official website.
“One of the great things about this technology is its unlimited ability to innovate. We are just starting to tap into the potential of UWB, and that's very exciting, ”added Samsung.
