Quick Response To Accident In Ambon Waters, Bekangdam Pattimura Provides Ambulance
The XVI/Pattimura Military Command (Bekangdam) Transport Briefing provides ambulance ships to speed up the evacuation process during sea accidents in Ambon Island waters. "If there are victims of accidents at sea, they will be evacuated using this ambulance ship to land," said Kabekangdam XVI/Pattimura Colonel CBA Parlin Hamonangan in a written statement received quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 8. He said the ambulance was a modification of the Fast Motorcycle Ship (KMC) Ton Plus which was originally used for troop displacements and patrols in Maluku waters with a capacity of 40 people. After being modified into an ambulance, the capacity becomes 30 people. The seat previously used as a seat was converted into a bed for patients who would be evacuated. Like an ambulance on land, the ship is equipped with an "rotary" light that indicates emergency vehicles so that other ships and those around the visible waters can give priority on its shipping path. According to him, the innovation arose due to seeing Maluku's geographical location surrounded by the ocean, while the evacuation of inter-island patients has always been a health constraint in the province. "This is very effective for evacuating accident victims at sea, freely maneuvering, and can shorten the distance to the hospital," he explained.
This ambulance ship will be used to support the improvement in the development of the Integrity Zone of the Bureaucratic Reform Ordered Region (WTRB). "All the innovations we have are to support the development of the Integrity Zone of Bureaucratic Reform Orderly Regions," he said.
