Body Tips Still Budget During Homecoming Travel, Make Muscle Stretch
JAKARTA - Long and long journeys during homecoming make the body tired. In order to stay fit, travelers need to stretch their muscles in the vehicle during the trip.
"There are several movements, both stretching and strengthening exercises, can be done there (in vehicles). It's limited but rather than not, it's still better, right," said sports medicine specialist dr. Michael Triangto, Sp.KO quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 8.
Michael, who is a member of the Association of Sports Medicine Specialists (PDSKO), explained that stretching can be carried out in a sitting position starting from stretching, stretching shoulders, stretching backs, and stretching waists which are each resistant for 5 seconds.
The stretching of the hand was carried out by straightening one of the hands in front. Place your finger on the back of your palm and then hold it and pull it for a while.
In stretching the shoulder area, do roll or move both shoulders forward and back repeatedly. To stretch your back, hold your back and place your hands behind your head, then hold for 5 seconds, relax, and repeat.
Meanwhile, to stretch the waist, perpendicularness and bustle the chest then place your hands behind your waist. Hold and pull for 5 seconds, relax and repeat. At the moment of the attractive position, the stomach position is like locked and pulled as deep as possible.
In addition to muscle stretching, travelers can also bring mini static bicycles for aerobic exercises that can be used while sitting in the car. Another option if you have free time, travelers can push up while resting in the rest area.
However, what is no less important than physical activity, said Michael, travelers must rest regularly every two hours. This is an important point to maintain body fitness.
"What is certain is that no matter how strong the body needs rest. That is a keyword that everyone must understand. There is no super person, leaving Jakarta to Malang, waiting for the car alone from dawn directly to Malang at night without rest, nothing," said Michael.
When you arrive at your hometown and celebrate Eid al-Fitr, you don't need to worry if you don't have time to do physical activities or exercise lightly at all. If you have free time, it is highly recommended to do light physical activities such as static cycling.
However, when the gathering was over, Michael reminded the importance of resting enough to restore the body, especially to prepare for his return to his hometown.
When travelers return to their hometowns and leave periods after returning to normal activities such as work or going to school, then start building a habit of exercising again with light intensity such as walking or walking quickly.
"There is always a way where there is an intention. Start according to the level of ability and health at this time. After that, you can increase (the intensity) as long as you are strong, you have to be realistic," said Michael.
