Bima Arya: The Failure Of The U-20 World Cup In Indonesia Affects Ganjar Pranowo's Electability
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Bima Arya Sugiarto National Mandate Party views that the phenomenon of the failure of the U-20 World Cup which was highlighted by the public in the statement of Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo is interesting between lowering or increasing the electability of the figure as a candidate for president (candidate) in 2024.
Bima Arya said the public spotlight on Ganjar Pranowo as one of the figures who had previously been one of the candidates for the 2024 Presidential Candidate in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) was still dynamic and parties were concentrating on efforts to form a major coalition, one of which was with PDIP.
"Currently, those who are focused on parties raise common perspectives in terms of parties, so they don't talk much about figures," Bima said, quoted from Antara, Saturday, April 8.
The United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) initiated by the Golkar Party, PAN and PPP invited three other major political parties, namely PDI Perjuangan, PKB and Gerindra to join the National Coalition which will be formed in the near future.
Chairman of the DPP National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan told reporters in Surabaya, Friday, that his party was holding talks to form a National Coalition with the three political parties.
Zulkifli Hasan has even been scheduled to meet with Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Bima said that currently the presidential candidates are still very dynamic and the options in the coalition have not narrowed.
"So the important thing now is that there is enthusiasm for a big coalition, but who is this candidate still in the process, is rolling. But there is a strong desire. A strong desire to mobilize a big coalition," he said.
However, Bima said, the assumption about the electability of figures is not necessarily a benchmark because KIB is still trying to make a major coalition happen.
"So for that we haven't narrowed it yet, but let's see the survey trend, not necessarily what we assume will happen. Yes, it's interesting, to see the phenomenon of this world cup has an impact on electability (Ganjar), yes, but I'm sure it's still very dynamic," he said.
According to Bima, there has been no conclusion regarding the candidate for presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo, who is currently in a hot discussion by the public, even though previously he was one of the figures whose names received high support at KIB.
"Yes, yes (it was a top) but it's still too early to conclude something, it's only been a few days. Meanwhile, the trend fluctuates. It could be that this is reduced or it could increase (increase Ganjar's electability)," he said.
On the one hand, he said, there were many publics who were disappointed with Ganjar's statement that they refused Israeli football players to compete in world trophies held in Indonesia, but on the other hand Ganjar's attitude was also a consistency narrative to uphold the nation's ideology.
"The intensity continues (communication), personally I also communicated with Mas Ganjar," he said.
