Social Minister Risma And Head Of BNPB Go To West Sulawesi, Monitor Logistics And Support Earthquake Victims

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini and Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo and representatives from the TNI departed from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport to the disaster locations in Mamuju and Majene, West Sulawesi (Sulbar).

According to Risma, his party had sent logistical assistance in the form of basic needs and basic necessities for the victims of the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked Majene and Mamuju.

Logistical assistance, reported by Antara, came from a warehouse in Mamuju which was sent from a regional warehouse in Makassar, South Sulawesi on Friday, January 15 morning.

"Logistical assistance is already on its way to the location affected by the earthquake. The Psychosocial Support Service Team reports that they have also moved. We are trying to help as quickly as possible to deal with residents affected by the earthquake," said Social Minister Risma in a release received by reporters on Friday, January 15.

The Minister of Social Affairs has also ordered his staff to immediately send Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) personnel in the surrounding area.

Risma added that for first aid, the local Tagana had carried out an evacuation with BPBD and TNI-Polri.

Logistical assistance, such as mattresses, tents, children's equipment, elderly equipment, ready-to-eat food, and others, was sent gradually starting Friday morning.

"All logistics in West Sulawesi warehouses are issued to help the community. Public kitchens will be established at the evacuation point. We will immediately inform you of the update. One public kitchen car can cook up to 2000 packets of rice in one cook, so that in a day it can produce 6000 packaged rice," added Risma.

Risma emphasized that the government will provide compensation to victims who died.

"We will continue to update the data because the team is still collecting data. According to the SOP, victims who die will receive compensation of Rp. 15 million per person, which will be handed over to the heirs. However, this will of course be handed over to wait for all data to enter," said Risma.

According to the plan, the Social Protection Director for Natural Disaster Victims of the Ministry of Social Affairs M Safii Nasution will lead a team to the earthquake location to identify needs and coordinate with the local government.

The results of the BMKG analysis show that the earthquake has a magnitude of 6.2 with the epicenter of the earthquake located at coordinates 2.98 South Latitude and 118.94 East Longitude, or precisely located on land at a distance of 6 km northeast of Majene, West Sulawesi at a depth of 10 km.

Previously, on Thursday, January 15, there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 at the same location, which also caused damage.
