Government Distributes Simultaneous Rice Food Aid For 21.3 Million Recipients Today

JAKARTA - The government's rice food assistance is distributed simultaneously today. The assistance is distributed to 21.3 million beneficiary families (KPM) throughout Indonesia.

Each beneficiary will receive rice assistance in the form of small sacks measuring 10 kilograms (kg).

The 2023 Food Assistance Program will be given for three months of allocation, namely March, April and May in order to fulfill food, especially when facing Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2023.

The release of Government Rice Reserve Distribution for Food Assistance 2023 was carried out by the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and the President Director of Perum Bulog at the Bulog Warehouse Complex, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

President Director of Perum Bulog Budi Waseso said that at the release of the Food Assistance program, Bulog provided rice for the allocation of three months of distribution which was carried out since March 2023.

The allocation has been prepared to serve the needs of distributing rice to 21.3 million recipients or as many as 213,530 tons per allocation. So that later it will be distributed as much as 640,590 tons for 3 months of allocation," he said at the Bulog Kelapa Gading Warehouse Complex, North Jakarta, Thursday, April 6.

Buwas, Budi Waseo's nickname, said that his party is committed to ensuring the distribution of this food aid program on time and on target.

"We have instructed all ranks to take steps to accelerate the distribution of food aid to help ease the burden on community spending, especially in facing the month of Ramadan and preparation for Eid Al-Fitr 2023," he said.

Buwas ensured that the rice distributed had already been checked for quality conditions and quantity before being handed over using 10 kg of packaging.

In distributing this assistance, coordination is carried out with the local government and appointed transporters, namely PT Pos Indonesia, PT JPLB, and PT DNR to distribute food aid rice in accordance with the appointment of their respective working areas.

Meanwhile, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi said the assignment of the 2023 Food Aid Distribution was entrusted to Bulog because it was proven capable and succeeded in carrying out previous Government programs.

Moreover, continued Arief, Bulog has also now transformed to produce more quality products.

The President's assignment of Food Assistance is expected to be immediately felt by the Beneficiary Families. In addition, the distribution of this assistance is also expected to control the impact of inflation to maintain food price stability at the producer and consumer levels," said Arief.
