Safe Homecoming, PLN Prepares SPKLU Ultra Fast Charging In Rest Area

PT PLN (Persero) has prepared a number of Ultra Fast Charging Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in rest areas that travelers will go through during the 2023 Eid holiday.

"For rest areas, we have installed SPKLU, there is an ultra fast charging which only takes 15 minutes," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo at the Idul Fitri 1444 H Electricity Alert Apple press conference, Wednesday, April 5.

Darmawan added, SPKLU in rest areas has different specifications because during the 2023 homecoming, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk limits the duration of rest for the community to a maximum of 30 minutes to avoid density within the rest area.

Darmawan said, until now a total of 616 SPKLUs spread across 237 locations in Indonesia can be utilized by electric vehicle users.

All of these SPKLUs, according to him, are ready to serve the charging of electric vehicles during Eid homecoming.

There are 9 SPKLU locations located in rest areas along the Trans Java Toll Road, namely Rest Area Kilometer 519 A (Solo-Ngawi), Rest Area KM 519 B (Ngawi-Solo), Rest Area KM 389 B (Batang-Semarang), Rest Area KM 379 A (Semarang-Batang), Rest Area KM 626 B (Kertosono-Madiun), Rest Area KM 207 A (Palikanci), Rest Area 208 B (Palikanci), Rest Area KM 10.6 Jagorawi Toll Road, and Rest Area KM 6 (Jakarta-Cikampek).

Furthermore, SPKLU on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road which can be used include; Rest Area KM 20 B Lampung (Bakauheni Toll Road), Rest Area KM 49 A Lampung Palembang, Rest Area KM 163 A Central Lampung, Rest Area KM 172 B Tulang Bawang Barat, Rest Area KM 269 Terpekaka (Kakauheni Toll Road Kayu Agung), and Rest Area KM 277 Terpekat (Bakauheni Toll RoadKayu Agung).

"We continue to increase the SPKLU to increase public confidence in switching to electric vehicles. PLN is committed to supporting a qualified and reliable ecosystem for electric vehicle (EV) users in Indonesia," said Darmawan.

Darmawan continued, this SPKLU is supported by three types of charging that are ready to operate optimally to meet the needs of the community, including medium charging, fast charging, to ultra fast charging.

The distribution of 616 SPKLUs spread over 237 locations; Java Island 171 locations, Bali 34 locations, Sumatra 35 locations, Kalimantan 12 locations, Sulawesi 14 locations, Maluku 2 locations, Nusa Tenggara 9 locations and Papua 2 locations. This location can be checked through the PLN Mobile application.
