Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus And S21 Ultra Officially Launched
JAKARTA - Samsung has officially released its newest flagship smartphone, Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra. The three of them were introduced at the online Galaxy Unpacked event, Thursday January 14.
"2020 is a year of change, but technology keeps us connected. In 2021, our top priority is to bring technology to more people," said President and Head of Mobile Communications Business Samsung Electronic, TM Roh, Thursday, January 14.
Both the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra are powered by the recently released Exynos 2100. This chipset is made with the EUV 5nm process, which promises a 30 percent increase in CPU performance, 40 percent GPU and 10 percent efficiency.
"We are officially introducing the most powerful line of flagship, with the most intelligent and advanced professional-grade camera and video capabilities for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, to the best superior experience in the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus series," he explained.
Supporting the performance of the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung has embedded RAM type LPDDR 5 and UFS 3.1 internal memory. The Galaxy S21 series is equipped with 8GB, 12GB and 16GB RAM with internal storage capacities, ranging from 128GB, 256GB and 512GB for the top models.
The three Galaxy S21 series are here to support the 5G network for users in various countries. These three phones carry a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
For the photography sector, the three new Samsung smartphones carry a number of different configurations. The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus have a 64MP main camera sensor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has an additional 108MP main camera sensor.
Samsung has also introduced several new capabilities that the three Galaxy S21 series have. Director View allows users to record video from all rear and front cameras simultaneously.
Not only that, Samsung also provided an increase in the Space Zoom 100x feature. Added the ability to zoom lock which will lock the image when zooming above 20x.
To accommodate daily use needs, Samsung has embedded a battery with a capacity of 4,500mAh for the Galaxy S21, 4,800mAh on the Galaxy S21 Plus, and 5,000mAh for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. All three have supported 15W fast charging
Other features, which are pinned by Samsung for the flagship Galaxy S21 series, such as Wi-Fi 6, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, face recognition. Includes IP68 certificate to protect the Galaxy 21 series from water.
As rumors are circulating, Samsung will include an S Pen for the purchase of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The South Korean manufacturer will also launch an updated version of the S Pen at the launch of the Galaxy Note 21 in the following quarter.
In Indonesia, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Series has passed the TKDN (Domestic Content Level) from the Ministry of Industry on 16 December. However, it is unclear about the price and whether the launch will coincide with global or not.
