Open With Fans, Jessica Iskandar Teaches Tolerance To El Barack
JAKARTA - Jessica Iskandar and Vincent Verhaag held a breaking of the fast with their fans in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on Tuesday, April 4. Not only do they want various varieties to Muslims who are fasting Ramadan, but Jessica and Vincent, who are Christians, want to provide moral education for their child, El Barack Alexander.
The woman who is familiarly called Jedar hopes that El Barack can mingle with as many people as possible regardless of the ethnic background, religion and race of others.
"Yes, of course (want to give moral education to El Barack). I teach El to mingle," said Jessica Iskandar.
With the child's friendship circle, which is mostly a half-blood child, Jedar does not want his son to have a wrong understanding when he is close to people from different backgrounds. The 35-year-old artist wants his child to be able to respect others and tolerate them.
"Don't look at the hair or something like that, because maybe El Barack mostly plays with his western friends, don't let him not want to hang out with his other friends," said Jedar.
"Anyway, I teach my son to mingle, share, don't look at religion or ethnicity, respect each other," he continued.
Mengamini apa yang dikatakan istrinya, Vincent mengatakan dirinya tak mau jika El Barack melihat orang berdasarkan static sosialnya.
"Don't be because of religion, because of status or work, don't ever teach El like that. Everything is flat, everything is the same, nothing is greater, nothing is wrong. Everything is the same," said Vincent.
Furthermore, Jessica admitted that she learned a lot from Vincent. She saw that her husband had set an example to be able to get along with anyone, and take care of yourself to remain humble.
My husband taught me to be able to hang out with anyone, so that's what I exemplify to everyone. For me, Vincent can play with anyone. It taught me a lot, if we are humans, we need each other, we need each other, we live side by side. So don't be arrogant, don't let it happen, we don't care about other people," concluded Jessica Iskandar.
